Redeemer Kids

Children’s Ministry

At Christ the Redeemer Church of Marietta, we don’t want to simply babysit children on Sunday mornings. We’re here to provide a safe and fun environment that will lead each child to follow Jesus. It’s our honor to partner with you in this task. Here is our mission:

Mission: To teach the Scriptures so children understand God’s gracious rescue of people through Jesus

Our Values: Tell the Story of Jesus as our rescuer, have fun, and trust the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of each child’s heart.

First Hour: Family Fellowship & Worship (9:45-10:10 am)
Families with children 5th grade and younger

This is a time for families to gather, sing together, learn a Scripture verse and hear a preview of that day’s lesson (which the children will be fully taught in the second hour).

We ask that parents remain with their children during this time so you can worship and learn together. Our hope is to provide an engaging environment in which the entire family enjoys together, and the parents gain the benefit of hearing the lesson previewed for further conversation with their child during the week.

What does our time look like?
9:45-10:10 am – singing, learning a verse, and lesson preview in the sanctuary

Second Hour: Children’s Ministry Classes

Children 5th grade and younger (10:30-11:30 am, classrooms open at 10:15 am)

Kid Connection is our Children’s Ministry offered for Babies through 5th grade while adults worship in the service from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Drop-Off begins at 10:15 am, right after Family Fellowship & Worship.

The 10:30-11:30 am hour for the 2s, 3s and Pre-K classrooms will include an interactive lesson, snack, craftt, and free play time.

The 10:30-11:30 am hour for Lower Elementary students (Kindergarten through 2nd grade) will include an interactive lesson, activities, and free play time.

The 10:30-11:30 am hour for Upper Elementary students (3rd through 5th grade) will also include an interactive lesson, actitivies, and free play time.

Here are the age groups we have available on Sunday mornings:

Crawlers & Early Walkers (P102)
Toddlers: 18 months+ (P103)
Twos (P104)
Threes (P105)
Pre-K: Fours & Fives (P106)
Lower Elementary: Kindergarten – 2nd Grade (C201)
Upper Elementary: 3rd – 5th Graders (C202)

Babies – Toddlers: Please leave a diaper bag with diapers, wipes, a change of clothes and any other items that will soothe your child like a prepared bottle or pacifier. Make sure your bag and all items are clearly labeled.

Twos & Threes: Please let the Sitter know where your child is in the potty training process. Please always bring a bag with diapers or pull-ups and a change of clothes.

Each week we offer a snack to Toddlers through Pre-K. If your child has a food allergy, please be sure to let us know and you are welcome to bring a snack from home as a substitute. Substitute snacks should be nut-free.

Due to possible unknown allergies, we ask parents to send in a snack for babies and crawlers. These snacks should be nut-free due to food allergy concerns.

Information for All Ages

  • Be sure to fill out your child’s information on the visitor sheet in his/her classroom and include a phone number of a parent who can be reached during the service in case of an emergency.
  • For your child’s safety, you will receive a security tag at drop-off. One half goes on your child’s back and the other half goes with you into the service. Please be sure to bring the tag back at pick-up time so we know the child is being released to an adult who has permission to pick up.
  • Please bring a water bottle (or cup with a lid) for your child to enjoy during the hour. Security items like blankets or stuffed animals are okay to bring to church but please leave other items like electronics or toys in the car so children can focus on the lesson prepared by our volunteers.

As for knowing who is with your child: All volunteers and Sunday Sitters must submit a background check that is updated yearly. All adults who work with the children must successfully complete a child safety-training course before serving on Sunday mornings. We follow the “2-person rule” at all times so a child is never alone with an adult.

We are so excited to get to know you and your child! Please let me know if you have any questions.
